Four days and counting

The long range forecast is looking fantastic. Even though we had buckets of rain last week, I'd expect the coarse to be in fine shape come Saturday.

Rain rain go away....

I just finished walking the coarse over lunch today. Even though the forecast is looking up, and the temps would be great for a race, I'm afraid the trails haven't had enough time to dry and we'd cause too much damage if we were to hold the race tomorrow.

We're will reschedule the race for Saturday, May 5 @ 1:00PM.

The next time you attend the church of the spoken wheel, pray to the sun gods for warmth and dry weather!

Snow!!

Three days before the race, and it's snowing!!! The long range weather forcast seems to change on a daily basis. What's the crystal weather ball look like for Satruday? As I write this, the chances for precip the next three days are slight, and it's going to be windy. That's a positive sign.

We'll hold the race, if conditions are such that we don't tear up the trails. We'll decide if we hold the race Friday evening when we inspect the coarse. If the race needs to be postponed, potential make up dates are this Sunday, April 15 and May 5.

Coarse Map

We were out at Greenwood Park Monday evening laying out the coarse. After all the rain we've had, we expected to find lots of greasy, soopy trail. To our surprise, we found the coarse in excellent condition and with great traction, and no mud.

The format for the Greenwood Park Duathlon is run - ride - run.

Red loop: running leg 1 (one lap)
Purple loop: mountain bike (three laps)
Green loop: running leg 2 (one lap)
